<p>Marine Technical Superintendent - Vessel Performance & Dry Docking</p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong><br />We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Technical Superintendent to join a leading maritime transportation organization. This key role involves providing shore-based engineering expertise focused on vessel performance optimization, dry docking management, maintenance efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, proactive analytical ability, and a collaborative spirit to support fleet reliability, operational excellence, and cost control initiatives.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Monitor and analyze vessel technical performance metrics, including fuel consumption, machinery efficiency, and operational reliability.</li><li>Evaluate engineering data to develop and recommend strategies for performance improvement and cost reduction.</li><li>Collaborate closely with Technical, Commercial Operations, HSQE, and vessel management teams to enhance fleet efficiency.</li><li>Support dry docking projects by reviewing technical specifications, repair scopes, contractor proposals, schedules, and budgets.</li><li>Review maintenance budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.</li><li>Utilize Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) to ensure maintenance compliance and optimize preventive maintenance programs.</li><li>Prepare detailed technical reports, engineering analyses, budget assessments, and performance improvement recommendations for senior management.</li><li>Participate in vessel inspections, technical audits, and shipyard visits to ensure compliance and optimize vessel performance.</li><li>Support regulatory compliance efforts related to Port State Control, RightShip, classification societies, and flag state regulations.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on fleet maintenance, reliability, and engineering best practices.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and support to vessel personnel and internal stakeholders on engineering matters.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or an equivalent engineering qualification.</li><li>Prior sailing experience as a Chief Engineer on commercial vessels.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and vessel maintenance practices.</li><li>Proven experience supporting dry docking projects from planning to execution.</li><li>Strong understanding of vessel maintenance budgeting and cost management.</li><li>Hands-on experience with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).</li><li>Familiarity with marine regulatory standards, including Port State Control, RightShip, and classification society requirements.</li><li>Authorization to work in the United States.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with ABS NS Enterprise, Bureau Veritas (BV), and other classification societies.</li><li>Expertise in vessel performance monitoring, fleet engineering analytics, and reliability engineering.</li><li>Proven track record in maintenance cost optimization, technical audits, root cause analysis, and dry dock project management.</li><li>Skilled in shipyard coordination and fleet technical support.</li><li>Proficiency with technical tools such as Microsoft Excel, Data Analysis & Reporting, and technical documentation.</li></ul><p> </p>Pandologic.
