Mammography Technologist - Austin, TX Area (No Weekends or Call!)


Are you an experienced Mammography Tech looking for a stable, high-paying role in one of the most vibrant cities in the country? Our client is seeking detail-oriented professionals to join their outpatient imaging team across several prime locations in the Austin, TX area.

This is a 13-week contract with a Monday-Friday schedule, offering a perfect blend of professional growth and work-life balance.


Position Overview

  • Weekly Pay: $2,335 - $2,455 (Based on experience)
  • Location: Multiple sites available (Austin, Cedar Park, and Kyle)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (No weekends, evenings, or call!)
  • Setting: Outpatient
  • Equipment: Hologic
  • Patient Volume: Targeted at 15 scans per day (approx. 3/hr for screening; 2/hr for diagnostic)


Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Procedures: Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammographic procedures according to departmental manuals.
  • Patient Care: Recognize patient conditions essential for successful imaging and provide appropriate care and procedure education.
  • Compliance & QC: Maintain all quality assurance records and controls required by the ACR, the State, and other credentialing organizations.
  • Radiation Safety: Apply ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles and ensure proper anatomical orientation/identification on all images.
  • General Support: Assist with general X-ray procedures as needed within the outpatient setting.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Graduate of an approved AMA Council of Education program in radiologic technology.
  • Certification: Active ARRT (M) certification.
  • Licensure: Active Texas Medical Board (TMB) license.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience is required.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Medinfomatic and PACS EHR systems.
  • Bone density experience (preferred for specific locations).
