Requirements

  • Float confidently between Oncology Medical-Surgical units and PCU as needed to meet patient care demands
  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in a secure corrections environment while maintaining staff and patient safety protocols
  • Perform documentation in EPIC and manage medications using Pyxis with accuracy and timeliness
  • Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias; act decisively as part of the rapid response/code team when required
  • Manage IV therapy, central lines, PICC lines, blood product administration, and other vascular access needs
  • Care for respiratory needs including HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
  • Support patients receiving oncology treatments and monitor chemotherapy when applicable
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, PT, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services) to coordinate comprehensive care

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (per state requirements) and current BLS certification (required)
  • EPIC charting experience (explicitly required)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (must meet experience within the 3 most recent years) with at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • ACLS and NIHSS preferred; IV therapy/phlebotomy skills are a plus
  • Comfort working in a locked corrections unit and following security protocols with Corrections Officer collaboration
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
