Tuition Reimbursement Plan Other voluntary plans are available to support you and your familyCareer growth opportunities in a supportive environmentWhat You'll DoTechnician works directly with the pharmacists to fulfill prescription medication orders and maintain inventory control.Answer phone & assist customers Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist:Assist patients as requiredEnter prescription information into the pharmacy computer systemEnter patient information into the pharmacy computer systemContact all new patients for demographic and insurance infoUpon receiving new antibiotic scripts, contact patient immediately to inform them & processMaintain updated patient profiles including allergiesInitiate communication with prescribers for clarification of missing prescription information as directed by the pharmacist and allowed under state and local lawIntake and typing of new and refill prescriptionsAccept refill requests, proactively contact patients to see if they are ready for refillPharmacist may delegate these tasks to technician:Data entryLabeling of preparations and prescriptionsRetrieval of prescription files, patient files and profilesCounting, weighing, measuring, and pouring of prescription or stock legend drugs and controlled substances, including the filling of automated medication systemThe acceptance of an authorization to dispense medications pursuant to a prescribing practitioner's authorization to fill an existing prescription that has no refills remaining Organizing of or participating in continuous quality improvement related events, meetings, or presentationsPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of an employee for this job. Requirements:
