Security Guard

Red Line Security is a licensed Michigan private security company based in Grand Rapids. We're hiring unarmed security officers for part time and full time shifts at an office and residential building in downtown Grand Rapids.

Shifts

• Monday through Thursday: 4:45 pm to 11:30 pm


• Friday: 3:45 pm to 11:30 pm


• Saturday and Sunday opening shift: 6:45 am to 3:30 pm


• Saturday and Sunday closing shift: 3:15 pm to 11:30 pm

You must be available to work weekends and holidays. The building has guard coverage on every holiday, so officers take turns working them. You won't be scheduled for every holiday unless you ask to be.

What you'll do

• Keep a visible, professional presence in the main lobby and greet tenants and visitors


• Patrol inside and outside the building on a set schedule, including the roof, stairwells, tenant floors, apartment floors and lower level


• Lock and unlock building entries on schedule and make sure tenant suites are secured


• Arm and disarm the building alarm system at the start and end of shifts


• Keep an accurate shift log and report incidents or maintenance issues to building management


• Contact law enforcement when needed and follow all post orders


• Hand the shift over to the next officer

What we're looking for

• 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED (required by Michigan law)


• Able to pass a background check & drug screening.


• Reliable transportation to and from the job site


• Self sufficient and able to work alone without direct supervision


• Available to work weekends and holidays


• Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct


• Clear communicator


• Able to climb stairs and stay on your feet for most of the shift


• Security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus, but not required

What we offer

• $18 to $20 per hour
