Associate Wealth Manager
Darwin Wealth Management · Tampa, Florida · Full-time · Immediate start
The role
Every Darwin client is served by a team led by a Wealth Manager, who sets the strategy. The Associate Wealth Manager owns the work that follows: building the plan, preparing each review, and carrying every decision through implementation, including the account and administrative work that puts it in place.
Because you own the work from analysis through execution, you learn how a plan actually gets done. That is the foundation for managing client relationships of your own.
Responsibilities
About Darwin
Darwin is a partner-led registered investment advisor in Westport, Connecticut and Tampa, Florida. Our partners came from Wall Street trading desks, institutional asset managers, and national insurance platforms.
Our clients have access to investments usually reserved for institutions, including private equity, private credit, structured notes, and life settlements. Each one goes through institutional-grade due diligence and is coordinated with tax and insurance planning. Behavioral coaching is part of the work, because a plan is only as good as the decisions a client makes under pressure.
Associates learn this work directly from the partners and Wealth Managers who do it.
Qualifications
Required: Series 65, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
Preferred: One or more years in wealth management or financial planning.
You’re organized, precise, and you finish what you start. You write clearly and can explain a complex plan in plain language. Over time, you want responsibility for your own client relationships.
Career path
The Associate role is designed as a stepping stone to a more advanced position, including the opportunity to manage your own book. Associates can begin building that book while still in the role, through client relationships handed down by their Wealth Manager and through the business they bring to the firm. Along the way, you’ll develop the relationship management and business development skills the next role requires, with direct mentorship from Wealth Managers and partners.
