Job Description

Base Salary: $180,000–$225,000 annually + ProSal

32–40 hours per week | Competitive Benefits | Excellent Work-Life Balance

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Associate Veterinarian to join our privately owned veterinary practice in Northern Virginia. We are committed to providing excellent patient care while creating a supportive, collaborative environment where veterinarians have a genuine voice in the practice.

Unlike corporate practices, our veterinarians are actively involved in developing policies, procedures, and plans for the future of the practice. We believe the doctors providing the care should have a meaningful role in determining how that care is delivered.

What We Offer

  • $180,000–$225,000 starting base salary + ProSal

  • Flexible 32–40 hour work week

  • Strong emphasis on work-life balance

  • Health, dental & vision insurance

  • Paid Time Off

  • Paid continuing education + PTO for CE

  • Professional license reimbursement

  • Professional membership/association reimbursement

  • Professional liability insurance

  • Paid uniforms

  • Complimentary veterinary care, medications and preventative care for up to 4 personal pets

  • Complimentary boarding for up to 4 personal pets

  • Supportive management and a collaborative veterinary team

  • Veterinarian involvement in practice policies, procedures, and future planning

A Practice Designed to Support You

Although we are not open to the public 24 hours a day, because we provide boarding services we maintain support staff coverage 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We also have a live-in, on-site veterinary nurse, providing continuous support and oversight for our patients and boarders.

Our veterinarians are not expected to provide 24/7 emergency call coverage. After-hours on-call phone responsibility is limited to our staff and boarding clients.

Schedule Expectations

  • Full-time: 32–40 hours/week

  • Every 3rd Saturday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

  • Limited phone coverage for staff and boarding clients associated with the Saturday/on-call rotation

  • No general public emergency-call service

Our Clients

We are fortunate to have wonderful clients who value their pets, trust our medical recommendations, and are committed to providing excellent care. This allows our veterinarians to focus on practicing good medicine and building lasting relationships rather than constantly having to sell recommended care.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a veterinarian who:

  • Provides compassionate, high-quality medicine

  • Communicates effectively with clients and team members

  • Enjoys working collaboratively

  • Values professional autonomy and having a voice in the workplace

  • Wants a long-term position in a privately owned practice

  • Believes a successful veterinary career should include both professional fulfillment and a fulfilling life outside of work

If you are looking for a practice where you can earn a competitive income, practice excellent medicine, have a voice in the direction of the hospital, and maintain a healthy work-life balance, we would love to hear from you.

Join a private practice where veterinarians are valued as professionals—not production numbers.
