The role of the LICSW is designed to offer flexibility and a collaborative atmosphere. • Conduct thorough assessments to accurately gauge the emotional, psychological, and social needs of clients, leading to the creation of tailored treatment plans that reflect their goals and circumstances.


• Facilitate individual, couples, and family therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Humanistic approaches to effectively meet client needs.


• Partner with clients to establish realistic therapeutic goals, consistently monitoring their progress and adjusting treatment protocols as necessary to optimize outcomes.


• Document all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with state regulations and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of client information.


• Engage in ongoing professional development by attending workshops, participating in clinical supervision, and seeking out advanced training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

You will work with a diverse client base reflecting the rich multicultural fabric of New Bedford. Our clients include individuals seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and more. As a social worker at our clinic, you will play an integral role in facilitating healing by creating strong therapeutic alliances with clients from various backgrounds and life experiences.

• A Master’s degree or higher in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).


• Valid and current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts.


• Proven experience in delivering therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families, ideally with a minimum of two years in a clinical setting.


• Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches and strong understanding of mental health assessment methodologies.


• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues.


• Ability to work autonomously while also functioning seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Prior experience working in community health clinics or similar settings, where access to comprehensive support services is emphasized.
