About the Opportunity

Mighty Dog Roofing of West Pittsburgh is looking for a creative, motivated, and outgoing Social Media & Digital Content Intern to help us grow our social media presence and tell the story of our local business.

We’re looking for someone who is interested in digital content creation, social media, marketing, and business analytics and wants hands-on experience that goes beyond simply scheduling posts.

This is a hands-on, creative role. You’ll have the opportunity to get out into the field, capture photos and videos, showcase our projects, highlight our team, and help bring the personality of Mighty Dog Roofing to life online.

You’ll work directly with the owner, gaining exposure to both the creative and analytical sides of marketing and learning how marketing efforts connect to real business results.

Pay & Schedule

$17 per hour

10–15 hours per week

Flexible schedule designed to work well around school or other commitments

Hours may vary based on content needs, job-site schedules, and local events

Some daytime availability is preferred for capturing job-site and team content

Gas/mileage reimbursement provided for approved work-related travel

What You’ll Do

? Social Media & Content Creation

Create engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other social platforms

Capture photos and videos of roofing, siding, windows, doors, and other projects

Create Reels, Stories, short-form videos, and other social content

Capture behind-the-scenes moments and day-to-day business activities

Showcase our team, customers, projects, and community involvement

Help develop the personality, voice, and visual identity of Mighty Dog Roofing

Come up with creative and engaging content ideas

Stay up to date on social media trends, sounds, formats, and best practices

? Field Content

Visit local job sites to capture before-and-after content and project progress

Photograph completed projects and transformations

Capture authentic moments with our team in the field

Help tell the story behind our projects and the customers we serve

Attend occasional local events or community activities to capture content

? Marketing & Analytics

Help develop and maintain a social media content calendar

Monitor social media performance and engagement

Track which types of content perform best

Review analytics and make recommendations for future content

Learn how social media and marketing contribute to brand awareness, leads, and business growth

Assist with broader marketing initiatives as needed

Who We’re Looking For

This position would be a great fit for someone who:

Is studying or interested in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Advertising, Business, or a related field

Is interested in pursuing a career in social media, digital marketing, content creation, or brand marketing

Loves creating content and being creative

Has a strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and current social media trends

Enjoys photography and/or videography

Is comfortable being out in the field and interacting with people

Has strong communication skills

Is organized and dependable

Can work independently and take initiative

Is willing to try new ideas and think outside the box

Wants to build a real portfolio of professional work

? Transportation Requirement

Reliable transportation is required.

Because this is a hands-on role, you will regularly travel to local job sites, customer projects, and community events to capture content.

Must own a reliable vehicle and have a valid driver’s license

Must be comfortable traveling throughout the West Pittsburgh/Sewickley service area

Gas/mileage reimbursement will be provided for approved work-related travel

Experience & Skills

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Photography, Videography

Video editing, Social media management, Digital marketing, Google Analytics or social media analytics.

Previous professional experience is not required. We’re more interested in someone who is creative, motivated, willing to learn, and excited to create.

If you have a personal Instagram, TikTok account, photography portfolio, school projects, Canva designs, or other examples of your work, we’d love to see them.
