Corporate Incentives Attorney

We are working with an AM 200 law firm seeking a Corporate Incentives Attorney, for any of its U.S. offices (with a strong preference, however, for its New York, Los Angeles, or Palo Alto offices) to assist its Corporate Incentives Practice, on a contract basis, that could become a temp to hire situation for the right candidate. The Corporate Incentives Contract Attorney will advise domestic and international companies seeking to expand or relocate in the U.S. The attorney will identify and negotiate discretionary economic development incentives for companies across a wide range of industries, providing them with excellent counsel about the best locations for the development of new corporate headquarters; manufacturing and distribution facilities; data centers; and large office projects.

The client firm’s Corporate Incentives Practice is fast-paced, utilizing a highly integrated team to serve global clients; so, the firm seeks process driven candidates with immediately transferable skills. Successful candidates will have strong analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills, and a number of other qualifications articulated below. They will be able to pay meticulous attention to detail; exercise good business judgment; employ excellent organizational skills; and work collaboratively and independently across the firm.

The attorney selected for this contract position will have a minimum of six (6 +) years of experience in all areas specified. The work is a full-time (40 hrs./wk.) contract opportunity, expected to endure for at least six (6) months. Compensation offered for the position is $150/hr. The hired attorney will work on a hybrid basis, with two days expected in the office. Hours may be nontraditional, if the candidate wishes, as the firm’s client deals occur around the world. The position has temp to hire possibilities for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case and transaction preparation and strategy.


• Draft well-written, error free, and reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.


• Assist and/or manage a variety of complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution, handling, as necessary, trial preparation, negotiations, settlements, closings, and other legal activities, while continuously demonstrating strong and sound legal and business judgment.


• Build, maintain, and cultivate strong internal and external client relationships by providing firm clients and attorneys with support, regular updates, and advice, as well as by addressing concerns promptly and with the utmost professionalism.


• Work collaboratively with other lawyers and business professionals to support and develop innovative case and transaction strategies to achieve the most favorable outcomes for internal and external clients.


• Attend, support, and participate in high-level legal activities including court hearings, depositions, negotiations, trials, etc.


• Ensure rigorous compliance with legal standards and regulations, staying abreast of changes in the law and legal precedents.
