Role Description The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) will provide direct patient care in a hospital-based wound care setting, including comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic wounds. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing wound evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, developing and adjusting treatment plans, prescribing medications and therapies, and coordinating hyperbaric therapy when appropriate. The ARNP will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, educate patients and families on wound prevention and self-care, and document care accurately in the medical record. This is a part-time, on-site role located in Tampa, FL, with clinical duties primarily at St. Joseph’s Hospital and potential collaboration with other affiliated sites.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license and national certification (e.g., FNP, AGNP, or similar) in good standing.


• Clinical expertise in wound care, including assessment, debridement techniques, dressing selection, infection management, and familiarity with hyperbaric medicine.


• Strong patient assessment skills, including history taking, physical examination, and interpretation of lab and imaging results relevant to wound and vascular health.


• Ability to develop and manage individualized care plans, including prescribing medications, ordering therapies, and coordinating multidisciplinary interventions.


• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.


• High level of patient-centered care, including education on wound prevention, chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes), and lifestyle modifications.


• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs) and accurate, timely clinical documentation.


• Prior experience in wound care, surgery, internal medicine, or hospital-based practice strongly preferred.


• BLS and ACLS certification required or obtained within a defined onboarding timeframe.


• Ability to work on-site in Tampa, FL, with reliability, professionalism, and adherence to all hospital and clinic policies.
