Account Manager - Washington, DC
Job Description
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to own new and expansion revenue across the Washington, DC metro, selling AWS migration, data modernization, and enterprise generative AI engagements into mid-market and enterprise accounts.
You will work alongside our sales leadership, partner team, and solutions architects to grow NuVista AI’s presence across the region. A significant share of the pipeline will originate through the AWS field team, making strong relationships with AWS Account Executives, Solutions Architects, and Partner Development Managers critical to success.
The territory includes federal-adjacent, association, healthcare, and professional services buyers. You will qualify opportunities based on business outcomes, structure deals through AWS Marketplace, and transition each win to a delivery team working toward a production milestone in six to eight weeks.
This role is ideal for someone who has sold services within the AWS partner ecosystem and understands how to build trusted relationships with both AWS sellers and enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own new logo and expansion revenue against an annual quota for the Washington, DC territory.
- Build strong working relationships with AWS Account Executives, Solutions Architects, and Partner Development Managers across the region.
- Source and register opportunities through the AWS field and track AWS-sourced and influenced pipeline.
- Qualify opportunities based on business outcomes, data access, timeline, and executive sponsorship.
- Structure deals through AWS Marketplace private offers and align opportunities with MAP, POA, and generative AI funding programs.
- Sell engagements typically ranging from $15K to $100K at entry, with a roadmap from the first workload to broader adoption.
- Partner with Solutions Architects to shape scope, pricing, and technical proposals.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM hygiene with weekly reporting.
- Represent NuVista AI at AWS and industry events across the region.
Required Qualifications
- Current or recent experience at an AWS Partner, consulting firm, or ISV in a quota-carrying role.
- 5+ years of experience selling cloud, data, or AI services to CIO, CDO, CTO, and VP Infrastructure buyers.
- Demonstrated success sourcing pipeline through the AWS field rather than relying solely on inbound opportunities.
- Working knowledge of AWS Marketplace transaction mechanics and AWS partner funding programs.
- Ability to sell technical business outcomes in partnership with a Solutions Architect.
- Established relationships across the Washington, DC market.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of results in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling to public-sector-adjacent or regulated buyers.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
- Exposure to data warehouse modernization or Amazon Bedrock projects.
- Familiarity with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms.
Additional Notes
- Preferred Location: Washington, DC.
- Work Setup: Hybrid.
- Schedule: Full-Time.
- The role works closely with sales leadership, the partner team, and solutions architects.
- Success within the first six months includes establishing AWS field coverage across the territory, building a qualified pipeline of at least ten opportunities, closing the first engagement, and establishing a reliable weekly forecast.
- Success within twelve months includes attaining quota, generating the majority of pipeline through AWS-sourced or influenced opportunities, expanding at least two initial engagements into follow-on work, producing a reference customer in the DC market, and contributing territory insights that strengthen the broader sales motion.
