Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Interior Designer with 5+ years of experience in commercial workplace interiors to join their New York team in a project-based position. This role focuses on interior architecture and workplace design and requires a strong combination of design, technical, and project leadership experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading projects from programming through construction administration, developing workplace strategies, and producing high-quality construction documentation for sophisticated corporate environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead commercial workplace interior projects from programming through construction administration


• Develop space plans, test fits, and design concepts for workplace environments


• Guide design direction and evaluate solutions based on client goals and project requirements


• Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, and interior systems


• Produce and oversee construction documentation, including plans, elevations, and detailed drawings


• Coordinate with architects, consultants, and project teams throughout all project phases


• Support project execution while maintaining high standards of design and technical excellence


• Participate in workplace strategy discussions and research emerging industry trends

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in commercial interior design or interior architecture, preferably workplace interiors


• Strong experience with construction documents and interior detailing


• AutoCAD required


• Revit required


• Revit-based 3D modeling and rendering experience, such as Enscape or similar


• Experience working on built commercial interior projects, not solely conceptual design work


• Strong hand-sketching and conceptual visualization skills


• Adobe Photoshop and InDesign


• Excellent presentation, communication, and project coordination skills


• Strong understanding of workplace planning and commercial interior detailing

Preferred:

• Experience developing workplace strategies for corporate clients


• Familiarity with hybrid workplace planning, utilization trends, and activity-based work environments


• Interest in emerging workplace trends and best practices


• LEED AP and/or WELL AP accreditation

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred.
