VP of Tax @ Global Multi-Service & Sports Firm

A client of ours is a Global Multi-Media Firm that has opened a new role on their team.

We are seeking a senior, high-impact Tax Leader to direct global tax strategy, planning, compliance, and risk management. Reporting closely to executive finance leadership, this role serves as the firm's central subject matter expert on complex transaction structures, M&A diligence, pass-through entity management, and global tax compliance. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience across corporate and partnership taxation, cross-border tax considerations, and external advisory management.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & M&A Advisory

• Tax Strategy & Structuring: Collaborate with senior finance executives to design and implement proactive, tax-efficient strategies across current business operations and future corporate growth initiatives.


• Transaction & Financing Diligence: Lead tax diligence for M&A, buy-side deals, and financing transactions—providing executive leadership with structural recommendations, risk analyses, and tax forecasting.


• Regulatory & Global Monitoring: Track U.S. federal, state, local, and international tax legislation to assess operational impacts, limit tax exposure, and capitalize on new statutory opportunities.

Ownership & Partnership Tax Operations

• Pass-Through Entity Oversight: Manage all partnership tax matters, including capital account roll-forwards, annual profit/loss allocations, draws, capital returns, and tax distributions.


• K-1 & Distribution Management: Supervise quarterly estimated tax projections, partner distribution calculations, and the delivery of quarterly estimated K-1s.


• Ownership Advisory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for ownership partners and their personal tax advisors, providing clear structural guidance and required documentation.

Corporate Compliance, Provision & Operational Tax

• Filings & Advisory Oversight: Oversee external tax advisors in the preparation, review, and timely filing of federal, state, and international corporate tax returns, estimates, and extensions.


• Tax Provision & Accounting: Direct the corporate tax provision process and ensure compliance with all accounting and reporting standards.


• Indirect & Local Tax Management: Direct operational compliance across all office locations, including property taxes, sales & use taxes, and municipal business filings.

Key Qualifications

• Experience: 13+ years of progressive tax experience within a major public accounting firm, a large corporate tax department, or a mix of both.


• Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA, JD, or Master’s in Taxation (MST) strongly preferred.


• Core Technical Competencies: Strong expertise in partnership/pass-through taxation, corporate tax provisions, M&A tax diligence, and partner capital account accounting models.


• Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to translate intricate tax regulations into clear strategic advice for executive stakeholders, outside counsel, and high-net-worth owners.
