Commercial Plumbing Estimator

We are partnering with a mechanical and process piping contractor seeking a Plumbing Estimator to develop accurate, competitive estimates and work closely with project and field teams.

This opportunity is suited to someone who understands plumbing systems, can turn drawings into detailed takeoffs and knows how labor, materials and installation conditions affect project costs.

What You’ll Do

• Review plumbing drawings, specifications and bid documents to determine scope and project requirements.


• Perform quantity takeoffs for piping, fixtures, equipment and associated plumbing components.


• Develop labor, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing.


• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes for coverage, exclusions and pricing.


• Identify scope gaps, drawing conflicts and installation challenges before bids are finalized.


• Coordinate with project managers and field leadership to validate labor and production assumptions.


• Prepare clear estimate summaries, proposals, qualifications and exclusions.


• Support value engineering, pricing revisions and project handoffs following award.

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on plumbing estimating experience with a commercial or industrial mechanical contractor.


• Ability to read plumbing plans, specifications and related construction documents.


• Understanding of plumbing materials, installation methods and labor requirements.


• Experience preparing takeoffs and building estimates using estimating software.


• Strong attention to detail, organization and communication skills.


• Ability to manage bid deadlines and explain the assumptions behind your pricing.

Relevant Backgrounds

Candidates may currently work as a Plumbing Estimator, Mechanical Estimator or Estimator/Project Manager with substantial plumbing estimating responsibility.

Plumbing Project Managers or field leaders with meaningful experience preparing estimates may also be considered.
