Job Description

Director of Pharmacy Operations - Specialty Pharmacy


Schedule: Full-time, hybrid


On-site Requirement: Minimum of three days per week


Travel: Up to 15%




This position combines clinical leadership, team development, regulatory oversight, and operational strategy. You will help create a consistent clinical practice model, strengthen pharmacist performance, and ensure patients receive safe, high-quality support throughout their treatment journeys.




What You’ll Do



  • Lead, develop and oversee specialty pharmacists across on-site and remote operations

  • Manage hiring, training, performance, staffing and succession planning

  • Standardize clinical workflows, documentation and pharmacy best practices

  • Strengthen patient education, medication safety and therapy support

  • Monitor clinical quality, dispensing accuracy, productivity and patient satisfaction

  • Maintain regulatory, payer and accreditation compliance

  • Lead audits, corrective actions and quality-improvement initiatives

  • Support REMS, limited-distribution and manufacturer programs

  • Collaborate across fulfillment, operations, nursing and patient-access teams

  • Contribute to specialty pharmacy strategy and growth




What You Bring



  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited institution

  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license

  • 4+ years of pharmacy experience, including specialty pharmacy

  • 4+ years of pharmacy leadership experience

  • Experience leading on-site and remote pharmacy teams

  • Knowledge of specialty pharmacy clinical services, accreditation and regulations

  • Familiarity with REMS and limited-distribution requirements

  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to obtain additional state licenses




A relevant master’s degree and existing multistate pharmacist licensure are preferred.
