Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable Finance Clerk to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and clerical functions related to accounts receivable and collections, including monitoring outstanding customer accounts, processing financial transactions, following up on overdue payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Finance Clerk plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial health by ensuring timely collection of receivables, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization in all financial activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a commitment to financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and post incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit card transactions) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Generate and issue customer invoices, account statements, and billing notices.
- Maintain customer account records and ensure all financial data is up to date.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Work with other departments (e.g., Sales, Customer Service) to ensure smooth billing and collection processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and identify delinquent accounts
- Contact customers via phone, email, and mail to follow up on past-due invoices
- Record and track collection activities in the accounting system
- Cross-train in team roles to support daily operations as needed
- Complete other related duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
- 1 – 3 years of experience in accounting and/or finance preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks
- Customer service mindset with ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
- General ability to easily achieve competency in the use of business apps.
