Role Description The Optometric Vision Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Boise, ID. This position is responsible for conducting one-on-one and small-group vision therapy sessions according to treatment plans developed by the supervising optometrist. Day-to-day tasks include administering vision development activities, tracking patient progress, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and adjusting exercises to meet individual needs and goals. The therapist provides clear instruction and encouragement to patients and families, explains therapy procedures, and offers guidance on home-based activities. Collaboration with the optometrist and other team members to review outcomes, refine therapy plans, and ensure a safe, supportive treatment environment is an essential part of this role.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Vision Development and Vision Therapy or the willingness to learn, including the ability to implement structured therapy programs and adapt activities to different age groups and abilities.


• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear verbal instruction, active listening, and the ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible, supportive manner.


• Candidates should possess a working understanding of Optometry concepts related to binocular vision, eye tracking, focusing, and visual processing, and be comfortable collaborating with eye care professionals.


• Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in a clinical or therapy setting, strong organizational and documentation skills, and proficiency with basic computer applications and electronic health records.


• A high school diploma is required. Willingness to complete on-the-job training and continuing education in vision therapy is expected.
