AVP Capital Management and Financial Strategy/Analysis


LOC: NYC On-site 4 days/week; NO Sponsorship




Global financial institution seeking an AVP of Capital Management to support regulatory capital analysis, financial planning, stress testing, business performance, and capital allocation. Solid background in financial performance, balance-sheet management, risk, and capital interact. The AVP will work across Finance, Risk, Treasury, and business leadership to develop a consistent view of capital generation, capital consumption, stress resilience, and financial performance.




Key Responsibilities



  • Analyze the impact of stressed earnings, losses, balance-sheet changes, risk-weighted assets, and capital actions on capital ratios and capital adequacy.

  • Connect regulatory stress-testing assumptions and results with internal financial forecasts and strategic planning.

  • Develop scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of changing economic, business, and risk assumptions.

  • Incorporate capital considerations into budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans.

  • Analyze the relationship between revenue, expenses, earnings, balance-sheet growth, risk exposures, and capital generation.

  • Analyze business performance using measures such as return on allocated capital, risk-adjusted profitability, and capital consumption.

  • Incorporate stress capital requirements into business performance and capital allocation discussions.




Qualifications



  • 6+ years of relevant experience in financial services, banking, insurance, asset management, or another complex financial institution.

  • Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting/Econ/Math, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and the relationship between earnings, balance-sheet activity, cash flow, and equity.

  • Understanding of regulatory capital concepts, including capital ratios, risk-weighted assets, capital generation, and capital actions.

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • MBA, CFA, CPA, FRM, or other relevant professional qualifications are a plus.
