Location: Downtown Indianapolis, IN (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $40-43/hour (W-2)

Overview

Our client is seeking a collaborative Product Owner to serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and Agile development teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, translating business needs into actionable work and helping teams deliver high-quality software solutions.

The Product Owner will partner closely with developers, QA analysts, business partners, and leadership to define priorities, manage product backlogs, and ensure solutions align with both customer and business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in Agile environments and enjoys driving projects from concept through delivery.

What You'll Be Working On

Product Backlog Management

• Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring work is prioritized and ready for development.


• Define and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature requirements.


• Continuously refine and prioritize work based on business objectives and stakeholder feedback.


• Balance competing priorities while maximizing business value.

Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and clarify requirements.


• Translate business needs into actionable user stories and development tasks.


• Facilitate conversations between technical and non-technical teams.


• Communicate priorities, risks, timelines, and project updates to stakeholders.

Agile Delivery Support

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.


• Work closely with development and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.


• Provide ongoing clarification of requirements to support successful delivery.


• Help remove roadblocks and ensure teams remain focused on delivering value.

Solution Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and solution validation activities.


• Ensure delivered functionality aligns with business expectations and customer needs.


• Help drive application enhancements, modernization initiatives, and new feature development.


• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased team effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a Product Owner, Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role within an Agile environment.


• Strong experience partnering with software development teams to deliver business solutions.


• Ability to translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable work items.


• Experience managing multiple priorities and collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups.


• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and product backlog management.


• Exposure to APIs, SQL, databases, microservices, or general software development concepts.


• Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar Agile project management tools.


• CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) certification.


• Experience supporting software modernization or digital transformation initiatives.


• Previous experience working closely with engineering, QA, and architecture teams.


• Background in technology-driven or enterprise software environments.

Logistics

• Location: Downtown Indianapolis, IN


• Schedule: 100% onsite, Monday-Friday


• Contract Length: 6-month contract-to-hire


• Pay Rate: $40-43/hour (W-2)


• Working Hours: Typically between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM based on business and team needs
