Safety & Health Manager

The Safety & Environmental Health Manager is a field-based position that ensures the safety of employees, subcontractors, and the general public across all Chimes DC work sites. The Safety & Environmental Health Manager will work directly with the Director of Risk & Safety to implement and enforce Chimes DC’s Safety and Health Policies and Procedures, and maintain local and federal safety standards on job sites. Successful candidates will exemplify safety as a value.

Salary: $115,000

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

What You'll Do:

• Oversee and ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, and the public during Chimes DC operations


• Enforce corporate, federal, state, and local safety/health standards


• Develop, evaluate, and update project-specific safety programs with the Director of QA & Compliance


• Conduct quarterly safety surveys, inspections, and job hazard/risk assessments; report findings and recommend corrective action


• Deliver an annual plan for meeting health, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements


• Coordinate and teach safety training, including OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour courses; schedule re-certifications


• Ensure PPE and on-site security compliance


• May supervise staff with safety responsibilities, including guidance, complaint handling, and discipline recommendations


• Serve as backup point of contact for OSHA or other regulatory reviews


• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in safety or related field preferred


• OSHA #501 General Industry Outreach Trainer authorization (required); CPR/First-Aid Instructor preferred


• 5+ years of professional safety and health experience


• Experience with hospital standards, OSHA/DOT/EPA regulations, and CIMS-certified facilities preferred


• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


• Valid driver's license (3+ years); must be 25+ to drive a 15-passenger van


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varied conditions

• At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted in lieu of the requirements specified above under Education and Experience
