Solutions Driven is looking for Electrical Engineer in Fond du Lac, WI. This local job opportunity with ID 3872277101 is live since 2026-10-06 14:41:50. Job Description
Overview
Responsible for designing, analysing, and supporting electrical systems used in oil, gas, and water facilities, including power distribution, motor controls, instrumentation, and electrical safety systems.
This is a lead-track hire: the client wants someone capable of managing a small team as it's built out, even if there's no team in place on day one.
A strong tie to clients' growing data centre work – this role is part of building out the electrical capability to support bringing power into data centre projects.
Role scope and responsibilities
Develop electrical plans, perform load calculations, and review one-lines and schematics.
Ensure all designs meet NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and industry-specific standards.
Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment such as MCCs, VFDs, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
Ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical systems across all project sites.
Be capable of managing or mentoring team members as the function grows, potentially two to three people in time.
Project exposure
Power-focused work: substations, power distribution, and transmission/distribution.
Data centre projects specifically – a growing area as our client builds out its electrical scope for bringing power into data centres.
Likely overhead-leaning, but the client also has underground cable and utilities capability, so underground experience is a plus rather than a requirement.
Industrial/commercial/utility-scale work only – not residential or general commercial electrical engineering.
Technical and professional background
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license – required.
5+ years of experience, ideally with some exposure to leading, mentoring, or directing others, even informally.
Experience in electrical design for oil & gas, water treatment, or industrial facilities.
Experience in power systems – solar, renewable, power grid, or substation work.
Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, and IEEE standards and industrial power systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, electrical design software, and power system analysis tools (e.g. SKM, ETAP).
Ability to interpret electrical one-lines, wiring diagrams, and construction documents
