Director of Pharmacy

Equity is hiring for an Interim Director of Pharmacy in Huntington, WV!

• Location: Huntington, WV


• Position Type: Interim Contract


• Start Date: August 31, 2026


• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM + On-Call


• Setting: Hospital / Behavioral Health


• Pay Range: $80-$100/hr


• Active West Virginia Pharmacist License – Required

About the Opportunity:

This is a great opportunity for an experienced pharmacy leader who enjoys a hands-on environment and can provide both clinical/operational oversight and day-to-day staffing support while the organization searches for a permanent Director of Pharmacy.

Position Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and PIC.


• Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of pharmacy operations.


• Manage pharmacy staffing and administrative responsibilities.


• Support safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy operations.


• Coordinate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow.


• Provide leadership and direction to the pharmacy team.


• Support medication distribution, order processing, inventory management, and other pharmacy operations.


• Monitor pharmacy workflow and address operational needs as they arise.


• Participate in on-call coverage following weekday shifts and on weekends.


• Collaborate with hospital leadership and other departments as needed.


• Help maintain continuity of pharmacy operations during the transition to a permanent DOP.

The pharmacy department includes:

• 1 full-time pharmacist


• 4 per diem pharmacists


• 2.6 FTE pharmacy technicians

Technicians provide support with:

• Order filling


• Medication delivery


• Inventory management


• General pharmacy operations

Facility Information

• Approximately 165 licensed beds


• Average daily census of approximately 130


• Behavioral Health setting


• Hospital pharmacy environment

Systems & Technology

• HCS – Order entry system


• Omnicell – Pharmacy automation

Previous experience with HCS and Omnicell is helpful, but training will be provided.

Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

On-Call: After each weekday shift and weekends
