Emergency Room Nurse

Specialty: Emergency Room / Emergency Department

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of ER experience

First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Local Candidates: Not accepted; traveler must reside more than 65 miles from the facility

Weekend Requirement: Yes, including every other weekend

On-Call: No

Charting System: Epic

Patient Ratio: 1:4 Days / Nights / Weekends

PAY DETAILS:

Gross Weekly: $2000 - $2130

Required Qualifications

• Active Louisiana RN license or Compact RN license in hand at submission


• Minimum 2 years of experience in the ER/ED specialty


• Previous Epic charting experience is required


• Experience handling approximately 1:4 patient ratios


• Ability to care for both adult and pediatric emergency patients


• Strong triage, emergency assessment, and critical-care skills


• First-time travel nurses are accepted


• Travel experience is not required

Required Certifications

• BLS – AHA


• ACLS – AHA


• PALS – AHA


• CPI


• NIHSS

ER nurses must have CPI or be able to obtain it before the assignment starts.

Holiday & Weekend Requirements

Candidates must be willing to work 2 of the following 4 designated holiday periods annually:

• Halloween


• Thanksgiving


• Christmas


• New Year's

Halloween is not considered a paid holiday, but units may still require traveler coverage.

Holiday scheduling is based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation.

Weekend coverage is required, including every other weekend.
