Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB)




Position Summary:


We are seeking a highly motivated Product Owner (L1) to support the delivery of strategic business and technology capabilities within Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB).


This is a hands-on Agile delivery role focused on translating business needs into executable requirements, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria. The Product Owner will work closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, architects, software engineers, QA, and UX teams to manage the backlog and support successful delivery of roadmap objectives.


The ideal candidate will bring experience in wholesale banking, commercial banking, institutional banking, lending technology, CRM platforms, or enterprise technology products.




Key Responsibilities:


Agile Product Delivery



  • Own and maintain the team backlog.

  • Translate features, epics, and business requirements into clear user stories.

  • Develop acceptance criteria and business rules.

  • Ensure stories meet Definition of Ready standards before sprint planning.

  • Break down features into appropriately sized stories.

  • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions with engineering and business partners.

  • Partner with Scrum Masters and Engineering Leads on sprint planning and execution.

  • Help establish sprint goals and align work with roadmap priorities.

  • Participate in sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives, and planning activities.




Requirements Management:



  • Gather, document, and refine business requirements from stakeholders.

  • Analyze current-state and future-state processes.

  • Create user stories, process flows, use cases, and functional requirements.

  • Identify assumptions, dependencies, risks, and cross-team impacts.

  • Ensure requirements are testable, measurable, and implementation-ready.

  • Maintain traceability between business objectives and delivered functionality.

  • Support UAT planning and business validation activities.




Development Team Partnership:



  • Serve as the primary day-to-day product contact for assigned delivery teams.

  • Answer implementation questions and make timely requirement decisions.

  • Clarify business rules and priorities throughout development.

  • Partner with engineers, architects, QA, and UX teams to resolve requirements and delivery questions.

  • Support defect triage and prioritization.

  • Ensure delivered functionality meets the intended business outcomes.




Stakeholder Collaboration:



  • Partner with Product Managers and senior stakeholders to understand strategic priorities.

  • Communicate delivery progress, risks, and dependencies.

  • Facilitate working sessions to refine requirements and align stakeholders.

  • Support roadmap planning and quarterly prioritization.

  • Build effective partnerships across business, operations, technology, risk, and compliance teams.




Enterprise & Risk Considerations:



  • Incorporate regulatory, compliance, audit, and operational risk requirements into solution design.

  • Consider data quality, data lineage, entitlements, access controls, auditability, and operational resiliency.

  • Account for exception handling and upstream/downstream system dependencies.

  • Support delivery within a highly regulated financial services environment.




Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or in a similar Agile delivery role.

  • Experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Experience managing or contributing to Agile product backlogs.

  • Experience working directly with software engineering teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

  • Experience working within a large enterprise technology environment.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Lending, CRM, or related financial services platforms.

  • Familiarity with wholesale or institutional banking processes.

  • Experience supporting lending lifecycle, deal management, credit workflows, relationship management, or operational workflows.

  • Experience with or exposure to:

  • Microsoft Power Apps

  • Salesforce / nCino

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365

  • LoanIQ

  • Microsoft Teams

  • SharePoint

  • Planner

  • Workflow and integration platforms

  • Experience working in regulated financial services environments.

  • Understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, and enterprise architecture concepts.

  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
