We are seeking an exceptional salesperson with a natural ability to connect, style and build lasting client relationships.

(IN)LARKIN® is an independent California contemporary womenswear design house founded by designer Mary Beth Larkin, creator of athglamour® a distinctive approach to dressing that combines the ease and versatility of athleisure with the sophistication of contemporary fashion, also known as the fashionable cousin of athleisure.

With our established Fashion House in Los Olivos, we are preparing to open our second location in downtown Santa Barbara at State & Victoria Streets, and we are looking for exceptional Retail Sales Associates to join our team.

Our ideal candidate genuinely loves selling fashion and styling women. You know how to walk into a fitting room with another piece because you understand what will complete the look. You remember your clients, follow up when something arrives that would be perfect for them, and understand that great selling is about building trust and long-term relationships, not pressure.

Our clients come to us for more than a transaction. They want a point of view, exceptional personal service and someone who can help them feel fantastic in what they're wearing.

This is also an opportunity to be part of something much more entrepreneurial than a traditional retail position. At our Fashion Houses, you are close to the designer and the product, and customer feedback directly informs how we design, merchandise and grow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieve and exceed individual and store sales goals through exceptional service, styling and clienteling


• Deliver a highly personalized and welcoming client experience


• Style clients and create complete looks rather than simply selling individual pieces


• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with new and returning clients


• Proactively follow up with clients about new arrivals, styling ideas and pieces selected specifically for them


• Develop strong knowledge of the (IN)LARKIN® collection, fabrics, fit and Style Stacks®


• Contribute customer insights and feedback to the designer and team


• Maintain the visual presentation and organization of the Fashion House


• Assist with receiving, merchandising, stock organization and inventory


• Support store events, VIP appointments and community initiatives


• Represent (IN)LARKIN® with polished professionalism, warmth and genuine enthusiasm for the brand

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of proven sales experience


• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed individual sales goals


• A genuine passion for fashion, personal style and styling women


• Exceptional clienteling and relationship-building skills


• Confident, persuasive and comfortable initiating conversations and closing sales


• Warm, polished and highly personable


• Self-motivated and proactive — you don't wait for customers or tasks to come to you


• Strong instinct for understanding what a customer wants and identifying additional opportunities


• Reliable, professional and accountable


• Comfortable working independently as part of a small, entrepreneurial, founder-led company


• Fashion, contemporary or luxury retail experience is a plus — but not required


• Weekend and holiday availability required

COMPENSATION

Competitive hourly pay, based on experience + 4% commission on individual sales

We are open to paying a higher hourly rate for a candidate with strong luxury retail, clienteling, and sales experience.

Strong sales performance can bring total compensation to approximately $30/hour or more.

We are looking for someone motivated by both exceptional client service and sales performance. This position is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys the earning potential of a commission-based environment.

SCHEDULE

Part-time, approximately 2–3 days per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.

A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Larkin spent nearly a decade with Giorgio Armani/A/X Armani Exchange before launching her own labels. Her work combines sophisticated design, exceptional fabrics and comfort without compromise.

(IN)LARKIN® is the creator of athglamour® and operates Fashion Houses in Santa Barbara County.
