We are in search of a Medical Director for Consultation Liaison Psychiatry to take on a pivotal role in clinical leadership and patient care at the Alaska Native Medical Center located in Anchorage, Alaska.
This position involves leading a consult liaison psychiatry team that caters to patients of all ages. Key responsibilities encompass conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medications, determining suitable levels of psychiatric care, addressing neuropsychiatric symptoms, and facilitating transitions in care.
The Medical Director will operate within both the emergency department and inpatient medical units, working closely with the Operations Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and hospital collaborators to deliver top-notch behavioral health services.
Qualifications and Skills for the Medical Director Role- Possession of an M.D. or D.O. degree is mandatory
- Board certification in a relevant specialty is required
- Active medical license in Alaska or the ability to obtain one
- Eligibility for medical staff membership and clinical privileges
- A minimum of two years of post-residency experience is preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities
- Experience in consultation liaison psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, or integrated behavioral health settings is preferred
- Current BLS certification is necessary; additional certifications relevant to specialty and practice scope are advantageous
