Medical Director

In our dynamic matrix organization, the Medical Director will work in close partnership with the National Directors of their respective fields to drive process enhancements, elevate care standards, and exceed discipline-specific professional practice guidelines within our ambulatory intensive care model. As a collaborative partner with the Practice Administrator, the Medical Director will oversee all medical center outcomes, including utilization, quality metrics, and the overall functioning of the medical center and its providers. This pivotal role is essential for the success of our rapidly expanding organization and requires an individual who demonstrates energy, humility, clinical expertise, collaborative spirit, and strong leadership capabilities.

• Clinical Leadership: Guide the medical center in delivering exceptional medical care through a comprehensive "one-stop shop" approach within a NCQA certified Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model, alongside Complex Care Management.
• Collaboration: Foster relationships and collaborate with health plan medical directors, local hospitals, specialists, and other organizations to achieve desired outcomes and reduce care fragmentation.
• Team Management: Lead the team in tracking and achieving contractual quality metric goals.
• Technology Utilization: Leverage technology and electronic medical records to enhance quality initiatives and operational efficiency within the medical center.
• Multi-disciplinary Engagement: Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, recommending treatment alternatives aimed at maintaining patient health and addressing ongoing clinical challenges.
• Dyad Management: In partnership with the Practice Administrator, oversee the Medical Staff and other team members.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with National Directors to implement process enhancements, elevate care standards, and exceed discipline-specific professional practice guidelines in our ambulatory intensive care model.
• Medical Guidance: Provide medical direction to the Medical Staff, reviewing current practices and guidelines while implementing evidence-based best practices.
• Strategic Operations: Develop and implement strategic medical operations and protocols to meet the organization’s contractual objectives.
• Compliance Evaluation: Assess current medical operations and the overall functioning of the medical center to ensure adherence to compliance and contractual obligations.
• Quality Improvement: Continuously enhance the quality of care and outcomes for our patients.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled physician with a systems-oriented mindset, strong organizational skills, clear communication abilities, and technological proficiency. A passion for working within an interdisciplinary team and a commitment to serving our medically complex and socially vulnerable patient population are essential. The candidate should be a physician leader capable of thriving in uncertain environments, working collaboratively without ego, and building successful relationships with team members and partners.

• Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the relevant state.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience managing Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial populations.
• ACLS certification required.
• Ability to treat acutely ill patients in an outpatient setting, providing services such as hydration, IV antibiotics, and wound care.
• Familiarity with value-based provider programs, utilization management, and HEDIS quality measures.
• Long-term interest in our organization.

• Board Certification in Infectious Disease or AAHIVM certification is highly encouraged.
• Advanced degrees (MBA, MPH, MS) or relevant work experience outside of medicine are advantageous.
