Caregiver Dementia Specialty (Active HCA Required for Immediate Start) If you have ever cared for someone with dementia a parent, a grandparent, a client you already know the part that is hard. It isn't the bathing or the meals. It's the afternoon when they don't know who you are, or they won't get in the shower, or they're frightened of something you can't see. That's the work we do. Get Care at Home specializes in the middle phase of dementia, when behaviors escalate and families aren't ready for a facility. We keep people in their own homes longer. We're hiring registered caregivers immediately for shifts starting September 23 in Citrus Heights, Roseville, Sacramento, and surrounding areas. What We're Honest About Most of our shifts start at hours a week, not 40. Hours grow as clients come on, and they can shrink if a client leaves. We're telling you that up front because we would rather you know now than find out in month two. If you need guaranteed full-time immediately, we're probably not the right fit yet but tell us anyway, because that changes as we grow. What we can promise: you'll know your schedule, you'll be paid on time, and someone from this office will answer when you call. What You Get • $19.00 an hour to start • A $150 hiring bonus $50 paid at 30 days, the rest half at 90 days • Performance-based wage increases: $19.50/hr at 6 months, $20.00/hr at 1 year (subject to performance and attendance evaluation; terms apply) • Milestone incentives in your first year based on active standing and performance • Paid dementia training in person and on video. Hands-on practice with transfers, redirection, and real scenarios, plus modules you can work through on your own time. • Ongoing in-services with guest speakers from the Alzheimer's Association • A named person in this office who checks in with you, not a voicemail box • Financial wellness tools, discounted tax prep, and an employee discount program • Voluntary Aflac and Allstate coverage options • 401(k) savings plan What You'd Do • Personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting • Meals, light housekeeping, laundry • Errands, appointments, and getting out of the house • Watching for changes falls, confusion, anything different and calling us • Redirecting behaviors calmly instead of arguing • Being steady company on a hard day Who We're Looking For We hire for character and train for skill. You do not need to know everything on day one. You do need to be: • Honest, including about your own mistakes • Dependable, with transportation you can count on • Willing to call the office instead of deciding alone • Able to take coaching without taking it personally • Patient with someone who may not remember you tomorrow Requirements • Active California Home Care Aide (HCA) Registration (PER ID required due to immediate start) • Reliable transportation and a valid California driver's license • Current TB test clearance • CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus How to Apply Fast-Track Screening Text CARE and your HCA PER ID # to for immediate screening.
