Our organization is seeking a full-time Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to join our esteemed team at a nationally recognized cardiovascular program. The Heart & Vascular Institute has established itself as the largest collective of cardiovascular specialists in the region, serving Rapid City and surrounding areas. With a dedicated team of board-certified physicians and skilled support staff, we offer a comprehensive range of cardiovascular services, including:

• Diagnostic services
• Cardiovascular research (currently conducting 7 studies focused on heart failure)
• A nationally accredited laboratory

Our state-of-the-art facilities include:

• Two cardiac and vascular surgical suites
• Two catheterization labs
• A hybrid suite equipped with advanced imaging technology

Our team has received national recognition, including the 2016 Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center Bronze Plus Recognition and the 2016 National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) ACTION - Registry - GWTG Platinum Performance Awards for four consecutive years. These accolades highlight our commitment to adhering to treatment guidelines that enhance survival rates and minimize readmission rates for heart attack and heart failure patients. Additionally, we are actively involved in the AHA heart failure guideline registry and have achieved a Bronze award in 2025, with plans to apply for a Silver award this year. Rapid City has also been recognized as one of the top five locations in the country for the lowest readmission rates, according to Medicare standards, as reported by Becker's Hospital Review.

Our dedicated team includes:

• A Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology physician
• A specialized group of Heart Failure nurse practitioners
• Heart Failure outpatient nurses
• An inpatient Heart Failure educator/coordinator, all of whom have completed HFSA courses with the latest heart failure guidelines

We provide:

• Dedicated inpatient and outpatient Heart Failure services
• A collaborative Electrophysiology and/or Structural Heart team (Mitraclip, TAVR, and Triclip)
• Cardiac MRI
• Mechanical circulatory support and ECMO
• Development of our own destination therapy LVAD program
