General Cardiology - Physician

Our organization is in search of a Board Eligible/Board Certified General Cardiologist to become part of our Cardiology team. This role offers the chance to join a well-established practice that handles 20-25 patient visits daily, with the clinic averaging around 800 office visits each month. Additionally, we operate a weekly pacemaker clinic that accommodates approximately 20-25 patients.

• You will collaborate with two interventional cardiologists and a team of Advanced Practice Providers.
• At our organization, your contributions will be valued. You will be part of a close-knit team of seasoned Cardiology professionals, including two interventional cardiologists, three APPs, dedicated nurses, medical assistants, front desk staff, and a Practice Manager.
• The Cardiology program is integrated within the Heart and Vascular Institute, recognized globally for its comprehensive cardiovascular care, extending resources well beyond the Somerset region.

Clinical and Program Highlights

· Non-invasive cardiologists engage in both inpatient and outpatient services, supported by physician assistants. Hospital responsibilities include rounding, consultations, TEE procedures, stress tests, echocardiograms, and EKGs. Medical call coverage is supplemented by other Heart and Vascular Institute providers through tele-Cardiology services during weekends. Physician assistants also assist with weekend rounding.

· The clinic hosts a weekly afternoon Pacemaker Clinic, serving around 20-25 patients during its hours.

• Qualifications:
• Required:
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiology
• Eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure
• A strong commitment to patient-centered care and excellent interpersonal skills are crucial, as we prioritize delivering high-quality care in a compassionate and professional setting.
• Preferred:
• Experience in community hospital medicine

About Our Organization

Our Cardiology department has been delivering outstanding cardiac care and services to patients in Somerset County and surrounding areas for over 30 years. The practice is conveniently located across from our hospital, facilitating easy transitions between inpatient and outpatient care. The Cardiology program is part of the Heart and Vascular Institute, which provides extensive resources throughout the health system.

The hospital features a fully equipped 24/7 Cardiac Cath Lab that addresses cardiac emergencies, peripheral vascular issues, pacemaker requirements, treatment for pulmonary blood clots, and varicose vein management.

Our campus also hosts various specialty services, including orthopedics, neurology, pulmonary medicine, pain management, and general surgery, with women's health services located just a few miles away. A busy telemedicine center is available for referrals in Rheumatology, Endocrinology, and Neurosurgery. Otolaryngology services, including allergy and head/neck surgery, are within a 30-minute drive. Additionally, there are four primary care sites expanding across the county, creating a robust referral network for specialists.

Our organization and its medical office building are conveniently situated within one mile of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, providing easy access to Pittsburgh and nearby areas. The drive to Pittsburgh takes about an hour, while the Pittsburgh International Airport is approximately 1.5 hours away, making it an ideal location for those seeking a rural community lifestyle with proximity to urban amenities. Somerset County is home to three ski resorts within a short distance, as well as extensive hiking and biking trails, numerous lakes and rivers for fishing, kayaking, and rafting, and ample game lands for hunting.
