Job SummaryThe Process Technician II is responsible for maximizing machine uptime on injection molding machines and automation equipment while ensuring quality standards and production goals are consistently achieved. This position works closely with production, engineering, quality, and technical support teams to maintain stable processes, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform injection molding machine and automation equipment startups according to production schedules.
Complete mold and material changes efficiently to minimize downtime.
Pull molds from storage racks and perform mold installations and removals.
Setup, start, monitor, and troubleshoot injection molding machines and associated automation equipment.
Conduct process troubleshooting and part inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, replace, and test automation systems, components, and networks.
Perform mold setups, start-ups, moisture content inspections, laser printing setup, and operation of auxiliary equipment.
Work with Process Technicians, Material Handlers, Production Leads, and Quality teams to maintain process stability and product quality.
Support conventional and dual-injection molding machine operations.
Program and troubleshoot robotic systems and automation equipment.
Follow all safety, housekeeping, and quality procedures.
Report quality concerns, equipment issues, hazards, and scrap concerns promptly to leadership.
Associate degree or technical certificate in:
Scientific Injection Molding
Industrial Automation
Robotics
PLC Technology
Or equivalent technical training and experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Process Technician or equivalent role in the plastic injection molding industry.
Minimum 1 year of experience programming and troubleshooting multi-axis robots.
RJG training or certification.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Experience operating computers and manufacturing software systems.
Knowledge of injection molding processes in a production environment.
Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost-effective manufacturing practices.
Experience with:
Arburg touch-screen injection molding machines
Dual-injection molding machines
Sepro robots
ABB Yumi robots
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
