Whitecap Search Healthcare Partners is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Physician Assistant to join a surgical team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, covering various surgical specialties and contributing to comprehensive patient care.

Function

  • Work as a House Surgical Physician Assistant for all surgical specialties.
  • Employed by Whitecap Search and based at a hospital location.
  • Work schedule: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts, no weekends required.
  • On-call duty required, typically 3 weekend days a month, with a 30-minute response time to the hospital.
  • Provide full-scope surgical care including pre-operative, first assist, and post-operative services.
  • Conduct surgical consults, patient history evaluations, and manage admissions and discharges.
  • Collaborate with a team of 5 experienced Surgical Physician Assistants.
  • Operate under the supervision of a supervising attending surgeon.
  • Specialties covered may include Bariatric, General, Head & Neck, OBGYN, Orthopedic, Vascular, Plastics, Neurosurgery, and Thoracic.
  • Utilize DaVinci robot technology with access to 7 operating rooms and a Picture Archiving Communication System.

Requirements

  • PA with a minimum of 1 year of surgical experience, particularly in first assist roles.
  • Candidates with Surgical Residency experience (post-PA degree) will be considered.
  • Board Certified and licensed to practice in New York.
  • Must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital when on-call.
