- Mechanical repair, maintenance, and upkeep of heavy trucks, earth-moving equipment, and related construction equipment including concrete mixers, trailers, dump trucks, forklifts, and other company vehicles
- Inspecting, repairing, and adjusting diesel-powered units, hydraulic systems, injection valves and systems, moldboards, cable-operated attachments, vehicle tires, and related equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake system issues efficiently
- Performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain safe operation of equipment
- Working in a fast-paced industrial and construction environment while maintaining high safety standards
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, forklifts, loaders, and heavy equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and diesel engine issues
- Inspect equipment to identify operational or safety concerns
- Complete engine repairs, brake work, suspension repairs, welding, and component replacements as needed
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and routine service work
- Maintain maintenance logs, repair records, and work orders accurately
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize operational downtime
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for company tools and equipment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and other departments regarding equipment status and repair timelines
- Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or similar role preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems
- Class A CDL driver's license preferred, but not required
- Acceptable motor vehicle record required
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures efficiently
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred; ability to perform welding repairs as needed
- Strong time management skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and repair documentation
- Must have own basic tools
- Ability to maintain equipment and work areas clean, organized, and free of debris
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather and industrial conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, dusty, or noisy environments
- Ability to safely operate tools, lifts, jacks, and diagnostic equipment
