Job Opportunity: Heavy Duty Equipment - Shop Mechanic

Safety is our priority. We are seeking a talented Heavy Duty Equipment - Shop Mechanic to join our team at our facility located in Jeffco, specifically at 20855 Westgate Road, Golden, CO 80403. This role reports directly to the Fleet Maintenance Manager and involves the routine maintenance and repair of our Ready-Mix trucks, while ensuring that our workshop remains safe and organized. Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications and manuals.
  • Conduct visual inspections and listen to machinery to identify the causes of malfunctions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems effectively.
  • Operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to retrieve non-operational truck assets.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance, including fueling, cleaning, tire and light inspections, and checking and adding fluids as necessary.
  • Engage in welding, repair, and fabrication tasks.
  • Procure parts for repairs as required.
  • Make service calls to other company facilities or job sites when necessary.
  • Assist in training fellow team members as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of mechanics related to truck and general maintenance.
  • Proficient in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, and various safety equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols and special work permits.
  • Competent in using computer systems and software.
  • Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is advantageous.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
  • Must provide personal tools up to ¾ inch.
  • A High School Diploma is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic is required.
  • Experience with concrete mixers is preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Travel may be necessary to various company locations for maintenance tasks.
  • Employees may be exposed to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials.
  • Additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required for specific tasks such as welding and repairs.
