Job Overview:The Registered Respiratory Therapist will deliver respiratory care services across all hospital departments. Responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring mechanical ventilation, providing emergency airway management as directed, and conducting arterial/capillary blood gas sampling and analysis.
Qualifications:Required:
- Graduation from a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) accredited program.
- Possession of the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver patient care as outlined in the Respiratory Care Practitioner scope of services.
- Capability to accurately follow instructions, organize tasks, and complete assigned work.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with patients, visitors, and the medical team.
- Proficiency in using EPIC EMR software.
Preferred:
- Experience of two to three years in adult critical care or neonatal/pediatric settings is preferred.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registry Eligible (CRT) as per the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) standards.
- Current New Jersey State License to practice Respiratory Therapy.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Alternating weekends are required.
- Availability for one major summer holiday and one major winter holiday is necessary.
- This is a full-time position.
- The Respiratory Therapist will assess and suggest modifications to therapy in accordance with established policies and procedures, collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes for patients.
- This role serves as a clinical resource for nursing staff and other personnel, ensuring appropriate care is delivered within the framework of established standards.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the manager or supervisor to ensure the department operates efficiently.
Pay Range: $41.05 - $52.68 per hour
