Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a fulfilling role supporting high school students as a Mental Health Case Worker for the 2026-2027 academic year! Work with grades 9-12 to make a lasting difference in students’ emotional well-being and social development. This is a contract opportunity located near Hayward, CA, working alongside a dedicated educational community and a collaborative team.
Your expertise as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) will help guide youth through challenges and promote healthy coping strategies, both in group and individual settings. With a small, manageable caseload of 28-30 students, you’ll have the opportunity to provide focused, meaningful support.
Qualifications:
- Active LMFT or LCSW license (required)
- Experience working in school settings or with adolescent populations preferred
- Strong understanding of counseling, case management, and crisis intervention
- Empathetic communicator with excellent listening and documentation abilities
- Familiarity with relevant school special education or social-emotional programs is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct mental health counseling and case management services to high school students
- Develop and implement individualized service plans, collaborating with education staff, families, and community providers
- Facilitate group and one-on-one sessions to address social, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Maintain compliant documentation and participate in student support meetings as necessary
- Offer crisis intervention and referrals to outside agencies when appropriate
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive school climate
This contract runs from August 12, 2026, through June 3, 2027. The school day runs from 8:15am to 3:45pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and 35 billable hours weekly.
