The anticipated salary range for this position is between $137,700 and $153,000, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonuses and a 401(k) plan.

Position Overview

This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing activities related to the development and execution of our Nuclear Clean Energy Center (CEC) simulator training programs. You will also manage simulator maintenance and testing activities to ensure they meet both management and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide functional leadership for the planning, execution, and assessment of simulator testing based on training program requirements, adhering to departmental procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure that the CEC simulator, along with associated training facilities, equipment, and materials, complies with necessary regulatory and industry standards.
  • Handle all administrative and managerial tasks related to the supervision of assigned functions.
  • Oversee and confirm that simulators are up-to-date and incorporate relevant information from sources such as the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), our Significant Operating Experience Reports, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) bulletins, CEC design changes, nuclear unit procedure updates, new regulations, and training effectiveness assessments.
  • Facilitate collaboration among different groups to ensure the timely completion of the simulator work schedule.
  • Manage contracts for simulator projects, including needs assessments, bid specifications, bid evaluations, and oversight of procured services.
  • Develop strategies, forecasts, and plans to support long-term projects aimed at simulator upgrades and modifications.
  • Assist the CEC and fleet with business initiatives, project management, refueling outage support, emergency preparedness tasks, and special projects.
  • Achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of starting the position.
  • Perform additional job assignments and responsibilities as directed by management or in accordance with company policy, including emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and support for outage activities in roles outside the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, education, or training with 2 years of relevant experience OR
  • Current or prior Senior Reactor Operator license or instructor SRO certification with 2 years of relevant experience OR
  • Associate's degree in science, engineering, education, or training with 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years of relevant experience OR
  • Meet minimum access requirements or unescorted access criteria, as applicable, along with a favorable medical examination and/or testing in line with position responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or previous senior reactor operator license or instructor SRO certification.
  • Experience with training simulators.
  • Familiarity with the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
