Exciting Opportunity for a General Non-Invasive Cardiologist

We are a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers, currently seeking a general non-invasive cardiologist to join our dynamic team. This position is part of a 20-physician cardiovascular group practice that is integrated within our health system, offering care across the region, including telemedicine and outreach initiatives.

About Our Cardiovascular Program

Our Heart Institute boasts a comprehensive cardiovascular program with numerous distinctive services, such as:

  • An accredited Chest Pain Center
  • A Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center
  • A Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program
  • A CVOR that performed over 400 surgeries last year
  • A growing Cardiovascular Research program
  • A dedicated Heart Failure Program
  • An advanced Electrophysiology lab featuring Pulsed Field Ablation
  • A robust structural heart program, including TAVR, mTEER, tTEER, Watchman, and PFO/ASD procedures
  • A specialized prevention and lifestyle management clinic

Our cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons collaborate closely with hospital administration to co-manage the cardiovascular service line. Support for this role includes:

  • 21 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons
  • 4 Vascular Surgeons
  • Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • CVOR, CVICU, and step-down unit
  • 74 primary and specialty clinic locations
  • A network of over 1,800 employed and independent providers
  • A Level II Trauma Center and Emergency Department
Work Schedule and Call Responsibilities

The clinic operates traditional hours from Monday to Friday. The selected candidate will primarily work at our main campus in Boise, with outreach clinics scheduled one to two times monthly. Call responsibilities are shared equitably among physicians, with general call (primary) at a ratio of 1:7 (Boise hospital only) and interventional call (back-up) at 1:5.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

While nuclear cardiology skills and echo board certification are preferred, they are not mandatory. Cardiac catheterization skills are also not required. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and fellowship in cardiovascular disease
  • Board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Cardiovascular Diseases or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Cardiology, or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment
  • A current, unrestricted medical license in Idaho and Oregon
  • The ability to secure privileges at SARMC-Boise and other affiliated hospitals as necessary
  • A valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA
  • Hospital medical staff privileges for interpreting electrocardiograms, heart monitors, echocardiograms, stress treadmill testing, stress echo, defibrillator and pacemaker checks, and transesophageal echocardiography
