Our organization is seeking to expand its team by adding a Non-invasive Cardiologist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan. This facility, situated at First Avenue and 97th Street in Manhattan, handles over 313,000 outpatient visits, nearly 70,000 emergency room visits, and more than 13,000 inpatient admissions each year. The hospital has an academic partnership with New York Medical College.

Opportunity Overview:
  • Conduct nuclear stress tests, EKG stress tests, echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), EKGs, and various types of Holter monitors.

  • Provide clinical care as a ‘Direct Panel Attending’ from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM.

  • Supervise and mentor medical residents.

  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with on-call duties approximately every second to third week, covering Monday through Sunday.

Qualifications:
  • Board Certification in Echocardiography.

  • Board Certification in Nuclear Cardiology.

  • Current New York State license (or the ability to obtain one).

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Cardiology.

Compensation and Benefits:

Annual Base Salary: $340,000* (for board eligible); $350,000* (for board certified), based on a 40-hour work week. Additional compensation is available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The estimated total annual value of the compensation package is $469,520** (for board eligible) and $480,520** (for board certified), which encompasses the base salary, 401(k) contributions, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors outlined below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.

  • Potential bonus of up to $40,000 (based on the previous year’s average), contingent upon achieving quality and productivity goals.

  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS limits):

    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings, with no employee match required.

    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings, with no employee match required.

  • Annual reimbursement for Continuing Medical Education (CME).

  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO) including vacation, sick leave, holidays, and CME days.

  • Comprehensive Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Premium plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.

  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost.

  • Optional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage available for you and your family.

  • Loan Forgiveness: This position may qualify for loan forgiveness through specific state or federal programs.

  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.

  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for healthcare and dependent care.

  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.

  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this role.

  • This position is eligible for the High Needs Specialty Loan Repayment Program (HNSLRP) for physicians who meet the eligibility criteria.
