Optometrist or Ophthalmologist - Jacksonville NC

We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to become part of our team, focusing on conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. Join us at MRG Exams to carry out detailed eye examinations for Veterans. This position is fulfilling and is strictly non-treating and non-determination, concentrating solely on assessments.

• Perform in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans.
• Examine and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
• Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Document findings accurately and complete necessary VA forms.

Note:This position does not involve treatment or prescribing medications. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is responsible for making disability determinations, not the provider.

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week
• Location: In-person role.
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day.
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools.

• A compassionate Optometrist or Ophthalmologist who is passionate about assisting the Veteran community.
• Strong analytical abilities to review medical records and assessment data.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in electronic documentation and web-based systems.
• A professional and empathetic approach when interacting with Veterans.

• Possession of an active & unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license.
• Experience with Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Comfortable using technology for record reviews and documentation.
