Optometrist or Ophthalmologist - Jacksonville NC

Our organization is in search of a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to become a part of our team, focusing on medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as a component of the VA's disability benefits process. Join us to carry out thorough eye examinations for Veterans. This fulfilling role is non-treating and does not involve making determinations, concentrating solely on assessments.

• Conduct in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
• Examine and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
• Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Carefully document examination results and complete necessary VA forms.

Important:This position does not include treatment or medication prescriptions. Disability decisions are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not by the healthcare provider.

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week
• Location: In-person role.
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day.
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all essential documentation tools.

• A compassionate Optometrist or Ophthalmologist committed to aiding the Veteran community.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess medical records and evaluation data.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to deadlines.
• Proficient in electronic documentation and online portals.
• A professional and empathetic approach when engaging with Veterans.

• Possesses an active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license.
• Experienced in Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Comfortable utilizing technology for record reviews and documentation.
