Location: Northridge, CA
Setting: PHP/IOP Outpatient
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 annually (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Supervisor to oversee clinical operations within a PHP/IOP outpatient behavioral health program. This role is responsible for providing clinical leadership, ensuring quality of care, and supporting a team of clinicians in delivering effective, client-centered treatment services. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in supervision, documentation standards, and working within substance use and mental health treatment settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision to associate and/or licensed clinicians, including oversight of clinical work, documentation, and professional development
- Ensure compliance with clinical documentation standards, including medical necessity, treatment planning, and continued stay criteria (DSM-5 and ASAM alignment)
- Oversee and support Quality Assurance (QA) processes, including chart audits, documentation review, and adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., DHCS, Joint Commission)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and effective treatment delivery
- Provide guidance on co-occurring disorder assessments and clinical interventions
- Maintain a small caseload as needed, providing individual therapy and supporting direct client care
- Assist with program development, staff training, and implementation of best clinical practices
- Support intake, discharge planning, and case review processes as needed
Qualifications
- Active California licensure required (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist)
- Experience providing clinical supervision in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting
- Strong knowledge of PHP/IOP levels of care, documentation standards, and utilization review processes
- Familiarity with DSM-5, ASAM criteria, and medical necessity requirements
- Experience with QA processes, chart audits, and compliance standards preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dual diagnosis (mental health & substance use) treatment setting
- Experience working with EMR systems (e.g., KIPU or similar)
- Background in program development or staff training is a plus
