RN Clinical Supervisor
Adult Residential Care
Position Summary
The RN Clinical Supervisor leads the medical team within an adult residential care setting, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and efficient healthcare operations across assigned resident homes.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and supervise the medical team and assigned groups of homes
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance evaluations for staff
- Collaborate with leadership to support organizational goals
- Maintain strong, professional communication with all staff
Clinical & Resident Care
- Support emergency medical situations and provide direct care as needed
- Perform assessments, observations, and coordinate diagnostic testing
- Oversee resident move-ins and ensure resident rights are upheld
- Follow up on medical recommendations across disciplines
Operations & Compliance
- Develop and improve policies, processes, and healthcare practices
- Audit EMR, MAR, prescriptions, and appointment records
- Monitor medication logs, PRN usage, and workflows
- Conduct monthly medication cart audits and review medical documentation
Training & Development
- Train and onboard Medical Coordinators and float staff
- Ensure competency through ongoing training and coaching
- Provide in-home training and sign off on medication passer competencies
Group Oversight
- Supervise one assigned group of homes, including:
- Appointment tracking and documentation systems
- Medication and control logs
- Staff task coordination and compliance
- Ongoing training and performance monitoring
Communication & Quality Improvement
- Participate in on-call rotation and weekly support meetings
- Review team communication daily and ensure accountability
- Analyze Performance Improvement Team (PIT) data
- Conduct quarterly guardian updates
- Provide regular updates to leadership
Qualifications
- Licensed LPN or RN (State of Michigan)
- 3-5 years of medical leadership experience
- Adult foster care and mental health (MI/DD) experience preferred
- Strong organizational, leadership, and multitasking skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
- Travel between locations as needed
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
