Duration: 12-months contract with possible Extension Job Description: The Process Technician plays a critical hands-on technical role in supporting cleanroom optical ribbon and fiber optic cable manufacturing. This position provides advanced process expertise, equipment troubleshooting, and technical leadership while remaining on a non-management technical career path. The role supports stable operations, continuous improvement, and production scale-up in a fast-growing manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Process & Equipment Support Operate, monitor, and optimize cleanroom-based optical ribbon and cable manufacturing processes Perform advanced setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of ribbonization, fiber handling, and bonding equipment Lead process start-ups, line qualifications, and product changeovers Troubleshoot complex quality issues including attenuation, ribbon geometry, fiber alignment, and bonding integrity Support preventive maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to cleanroom protocols, SOPs, and safety requirements Monitor in-line and off-line quality metrics and drive corrective actions Ensure compliance with ISO, Telcordia/GR, IEC, and customer specifications Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Continuous Improvement Analyze process data using SPC and manufacturing systems to improve yield, throughput, and uptime Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives Assist with new equipment installation, process transfers, and plant expansion efforts Technical Leadership Serve as a technical mentor to Process Technicians and Operators Provide hands-on training and technical guidance without direct people management responsibilities Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned processes or equipment Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in engineering technology or related field preferred 2-3+ years of experience in optical fiber, ribbon, or precision manufacturing Strong knowledge of cleanroom operations and contamination control Hands-on experience with optical fiber handling, ribbonization, and precision equipment Proficiency in SPC, MES, and process data analysis Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, and procedures Strong troubleshooting, communication, and mentoring skills Required Skills: Cleanroom Process Monitoring Optical fiber manufacturing Equipment setup & calibration SPC (Statistical Process Control) Root cause analysis Basic troubleshooting Education: High school diploma About US Tech Solutions: US Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
