<p><strong>PURPOSE OF POSITION</strong>: Under the direction of the Chief Electrician and /or the day-to-day supervision, the position incumbent is<br>responsible for the ongoing electrical maintenance and upkeep of all plant equipment and processes. To insure that all plant<br>equipment and facilities are inspected, maintained and repaired on a timely and cost-effective basis. The incumbent shall be highly<br>concerned for the safety of him/her self and co-workers and follow all safety rules procedures and processes. <strong>This is working with MSHA and a union job.</strong></p><p><br><strong>CORE COMPETENCIES</strong>:<br>• Planning and Organizing Skills<br>• Decision Making<br>• Communication Skills (Oral & Written)<br>• Job Motivation<br>• Physical activity - coordinating hand and foot, maintaining a steady hand<br>• Manipulating objects by hand, fine movement with fingers<br>• Maintaining physical balance<br>• Making a fast reaction to sound signal<br>• Making a fast reaction to visual signal</p><p><br><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong>:<br>• Must be familiar with cement process flow and equipment functions.<br>• Familiar with and be able to follow electrical, mechanical and plant safety rules.<br>• Able to use the storeroom system to locate spare parts and able to input work requests in the CMMS.<br>• Able to operate plant mobile equipment.<br>• Able to troubleshoot motors, transformers, electrical drives, starters, breakers, disconnects, electrical interlocks,<br>temperature and pressure transmitters and similar devices.<br>• Familiar with instrumentation and electronic circuits.<br>• Familiar with PLC and PC programs and computer hardware.<br>• Able to read blueprints and schematic diagrams.<br>• Able to select and use proper tools and measuring devices.<br>• Able to use cutting torch.<br>• Familiar with safe rigging techniques.<br>• Understand plant power distribution and AC/DC circuits.<br>• Able to change out motors, fuses, electrical/mechanical valves, thermocouples, transducers and similar electrical and<br>mechanical devices.<br>• Able to perform coupling alignments.<br>• Able to understand air pollution control device operation and perform normal maintenance.<br>• Should be familiar with different lubrications requirements of plant equipment.<br>• Any other activities requested by the Supervisor that is consistent with this job classification and not included above.</p><p><br><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</strong>:<br>Sitting, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Twisting, Climbing, Crawling, Balancing, Bending (bending at the waist, lifting above<br>the waist and lifting below the waist), Kneeling, Reaching, Grasping (use of both hands), Squatting, Repetitive Motions,<br>Manipulative finger movements with both hands, Use of Wrists (Flexing or Rotating with both wrists), Use of both feet, Use of Arm<br>Above Shoulder (needs both arms), Use of Arm Below Shoulder (needs both arms). Extended periods of time in same position,<br>Confine space, Perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, Heights, Lift and carry up to 100 lbs., Work in<br>dust, fumes, gases and chemicals.</p><p><br><strong>PHYSICAL ACTIVITY</strong>:<br>Climbing is ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and<br>arms. Body ability is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for<br>ordinary locomotion. Balancing is maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow,<br>slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
